That's wonderful news, even if it feels slightly odd and sad.

I wanted to say Word Monkey is an excellent earlier but missed the posting window. So I've said now. Anyone who has not read it should. Funny and inciteful.

Thank you for keeping us up to date.

Hello to all the old posters.

Wayne.

Really glad to see the return of this blog on a beautifully designed website.

Word Monkey is excellent. Always preferred CF's non-fiction to his fiction. Word Monkey completes a brilliant trilogy of memoirs.
If visitors are looking for similar books try 'No One Round Here Reads Tolstoy' by Mark Hodkinson which is almost as good as CF.

Wayne, with apologies I think you mean 'insightful'

Please keep the blog going !

Oooh! I'm so excited!
I'm about half way through Word Monkey. It's brilliant, and funny, and insightful, but I also keep having to pause for a wee cry, so it's even slower going than my usual reading pace. It's worth it though.

Am so glad that it will be published. I miss CF and although I bought a first edition, signed copy of Word Monkey, I still cannot bring myself to read it, I remember when I opened the box it arrived in and I held it for the first time, I teared up and am actually filling up juat typing this message. It is a wonderful legacy to have left behind such a wonderful body of work, but also to have had such a deep impact on those fortunate enough to have been a part of his literary journey.

Hi Pete,
I loved 'Foot on the Crown' I couldn't put it down. I know how much Chris loved the 'Gormanghast' trilogy and this was reminiscent but better in some ways and so Chris. It's a genre of writing I love so I am so pleased he wrote this. I am reading all of Chris' old books I haven;t read for a while and the ones I didn't read, it's the only way I can access him now and it is so sad but he is there in every page.
